Flexible and Invisible Denture Services
The Denture Centre offers flexible and invisible dentures to patients who prefer an alternative to the traditional metal-clasped partial dentures. Our preferred flexible-denture base material is Valplast because it is an industry leading thermoplastic denture base that blends nicely into the oral tissues. We also use Visiclear made clasps because of how invisible they appear in the mouth. The advantage of choosing a flexible partial denture versus cast or acrylic partial dentures is that it is completely metal-free, meaning that when you smile, there are no metal clasps visible. However, it is more difficult to add teeth onto flexible dentures, and relining or repairing them is also more difficult and more costly.
For pricing of flexible dentures, please contact your closest office for your free consultation. We aim to keep our partial denture prices in line with our $499 per denture offers, however similar to the cast partial, there are additional outside lab fees involved in having this type of denture created.
The process of creating the flexible dentures is more challenging than making complete dentures. Because of this, our flexible denture bases are processed at one of our partnered dental laboratories. Similar to with the cast partial denture process, by using the specialized services of a commercial lab, it usually adds an extra week or two to the normal denture delivery time, however by using an outside lab for certain procedures, we're able to keep our expenses minimized, and provide more affordable services to all denture wearers, regardless of which type of denture that is made.
The term "invisible dentures" refers to dentures that utilize the Visiclear clasp system. These clear clasps are thermoplastic and clasp onto your teeth using the clear plastic material. There is some flexibility in the material allowing for a tight fit over your teeth, while still being flexible enough for you to remove the denture easily.
The difference between the Valpast denture and the Visiclear clasped, invisible denture is that the Valplast material is a pink, or gum shade. a clasps onto your gums rather than your teeth. The Visiclear clasps grasp onto your teeth but is made of a clear material so that your natural tooth colour shines through the Visiclear clasp, making them almost invisible to anyone who sees you smile.
